Company Values
Collaborative Ideation | Design | Animation
We wanted to create an animation that explained the company’s values in a way that was engaging, unexpected, and fun. Rather than just listing them out, we tried to use humour to make the values feel more real and relatable.
Below are some of the clips I did the design and animation on.
For passionate and hardworking, we played with audience expectations. At first, it looks like one character is putting in all the effort, but then we reveal that the real work is actually being done by a much bigger character in the background.
For personal growth and self reflection, we wanted to show these values in action rather than just stating them. So, we created a moment where one character encourages another to step outside their comfort zone and try something she was afraid of. This reinforced the idea that growth often comes from support and a willingness to take risks.
This was quite a fun clip to animate as it required animating the character whole bodies doing unusal and dramatic movements like leaping onto a broomstick.
It was animated entirely in After Effects. The streak behind the broomstick was created using a script I wrote myself, which follows the movement of a null, which is parented to the back of the broomstick and traces a path which is delayed from the nulls movement, creating a trail.
I designed an animated most of what happens in this clip. The first two shots were by my colleague.
It was all drawn and animated within After Effects. Having characters pass the scroll to one another was quite tricky as while it's being held by two characters at the same time you can't simply parent the scroll to one characters hand, you need to transfer whose hand is controlling the scroll so it took a lot of careful frame by frame adjustments.
A key theme throughout the animation was that values aren’t static, they’re something that should be shared, built upon, and passed around. As the story unfolded, each character added their own contribution, showing how values evolve through collaboration.
Finally, the values were nailed to a door in a Martin Luther style declaration of what the company stands for.
By combining humor, storytelling, and a bit of fantasy, we turned what could have been a simple corporate message into something memorable and engaging.
