Part of a larger lesson on Internet Jargon. This segment was talking about Country Code Top-Level Domains, which are the letters at the end of a URL that show what country the website it from.

I did simple digital paintings on different layers for the separate elements and arranged them in 3D space within After Effects to give a sense of depth.

Breakdown of effects

I applied a lot of effects in AE to bring the elements together. You can see in this example that the initial colours are quite different from the final shot.

The sea was one of the more interesting parts to make. It's made entirely within After Effects with layered Turbulent Noise effects and coloured Solid layers.

I used lots of lighting and glow effects to help tie everything together.
