Digital Transformation: The Cost of Sitting Still

Ideation | Design | Animation

Because the scripts talks us through different periods in time I wanted to try and convey the different eras through the style of the animation.

To develop the style I collected references for each era and made mood boards to use as a starting point.

I generated ideas by printing off the script with extra wide line spacing and sketching in between. I worked with the script writer to adjust the script so I could have defined sections of each time period working from the oldest to most recent. I created an animatic to check the timings.

For complex scenes I used simple 3D extrusion of shape layers in After effects to try and compose the scene I wanted and then drew over it to create the look I was aiming for.
